L O R E
The Grimm Brothers and their collection of fairytales are famous the world over. From Little Red Cap to Snow White, we all have heard the stories, in one way or another. The brothers collected these stories from all across Europe, but many of these stories were based around or were inspired by one thing; the Black Forest. The Black Forest, or the Schwarzwald, is a 2,320 mile long span of trees atop mountainous land. The forest is vast, dense, and, by proxy, treacherous. It is generally believed that the fairytales surrounding the Black Forest were created to keep children safe. They were to keep children out of the woods, so they wouldn’t get lost or fall prey to any of the animals that the forest played host to. That being said, there are still people who feel the stories are more than just fairytales. But whether you believe that or not is up to you. Are there just wolves and rabbits in those trees? Or is there something else? Something darker.
Celebrating Birth of 100th Great-Grandchild: “This is our response to Hitler”
Michael (92) and Marion (90) Mittwoch fled Germany as teenagers when Hitler rose to power, and were among the founders of Kibbutz Lavi.
This month they celebrated the birth of their 100th great-grandchild, Dagan Raz (in the center of the photo below, along with proud great-grandparents, father, and grandfather).
Michael Mittwoch reflected with emotion, “This is our response to Hitler, yemach shmo. He attempted to wipe us out and here we have brought our 100th great-grandchild into the covenant of Avraham Avinu!”

Every so often, an incredibly rare genetic mutation results in a coyote with absolutely stunning black-and-tan coloration. Unlike melanism, which is an overdose of black pigmentation, this genetic fluke leaves the pale underbelly and white facial markings unaffected. The contrast in hues is quite striking, and the fur itself often has a sleeker, plusher feel to it.
This coyote’s face has been expertly shaped for the most realistic expression and form. It fits perfectly atop the wearer’s head, or can be worn over the face like a mask, as well. The eyes are not backed so the wearer can look out through them, effectively viewing the world from the animal’s own.
These headdresses are exceptional for ritual use, but are also perfect for photoshoots, performing arts, and home decor for the serious collector. I only make a few of these per year. This is one of only three I’ve ever made that feature such a unique genetic mutation.Available from the NaturePunk Etsy Store.
