I WAS SO SAD THAT DIDN’T ACTUALLY HAPPEN IN GAME! 

Hawke charged forward because they’re the older sibling, it’s their duty to keep Carver safe because he’s the only family they’ve got left. But Carver stops them, pushing them away from the Fear demon with insistent hands and tearful eyes because it’s his turn to take care of his family. And Carver smiles while he charges towards the demon. He’s grinning because he was the one to stand up against the monsters. He was the one to protect the people he loved. He’s finally out of Hawke’s shadow and he’s taking a stand. And he knows that Bethany, Malcolm, and Leandra will be waiting for him.
