New fires are starting on base, we can see it from our window, about 3 miles from our house. You can tell if the smoke is black that it’s new, yellow/white means the firefighters are getting to it. This is actually getting scary now.

Fennec bbs at the San Diego Zoo.  Ridiculously cute!  I was so happy they came out!  I was hanging out there for a little while, hoping they’d come out of their little hideaway.  Of course they didn’t until I decided to leave, but I caught the buggers out of the corner of my eye and went back!  Hahaha, jokes on you, you little tricksters!
