Say what you will about Pokemon GO, but there’s a stop at the Target where I work, and I totally paid $.99 on my lunch break for a lure module, sat back and watched at least four kids get so excited to catch Pokemon while their parents waited for their Starbucks. It made my crap day so much better to see them that excited, so that’s worth it to me.

Catching all those duplicate pokemon really does help with evolutions
I feel it’s a game of eugenics. I collect duplicates, return the ones with lower CP levels, and evolve the strongest one with the candies rendered. Only the strongest remain.
Hasn’t… hasn’t Pokemon always been a game of eugenics? Especially since Gold and silver? I know in X and Y I definitely bred over 300 fennekins to get a 6 EV shiny. Never got the shiny part, but I definitely have about a hundred 6 EV fennekins and vulpix.
