Impressive Paper Art by Calvin Nicholls

Paper artist  Calvin Nicholls meticulously construct paper sculptures of animals. By creating a 3D sculpture, Nicholls uses a haut-relief-effect, which he fully explain with images and words here. The complexity of his pieces require a number of weeks to careully construct with pieces of paper, scalpels, scissors, and X-ACTOR knives.

These are rad, but WHAT possesses you to spend that much time slicing up your fingers with papercuts???

Actually! Fun fact!

If “starting to die” is defined as “cells start dying at a faster rate than they are replaced” then you don’t start dying the day you’re born! You’re still growing and cells are still being replaced pretty quick for about 22 to 25 years!

So 25. THAT’S when you start to die!
