Because you’re in a European-style church, yo. Christian art depicts Jesus and the other Biblical figures as whatever the race of the artist/region is. Don’t believe me?

If you live in a country or region where the culture is primarily European, expect to have that reflected in the art you see.

I want more Chinese Jesus in my life.  That’s a gorgeous painting oh my Lord.
