Lemme tell you about this. And let it be a lesson that unfair Pokemon battles aren’t always hopeless.
I was just getting to my normal egg-hatching route. On the way, the trainer radar picked up a willing battler. I figured “eh why not” because I was training a new team and they needed the experience.
Well I sure didn’t know that this trainer was going to pit his level 51’s up against my level 24 Magnemite, Spork, and his just-as-weak comrades. I figured I was in for a swift defeat and lazily started fighting.
That is, until Spork’s Sturdy ability + my 60 Hyper Potions formed a tag team of desperation. Oh yes.
Once I had this Wailord paralyzed with Thunder Wave I started firing Mirror Shots at it until its accuracy was lowered. From then on, its attacks either missed, or it was too paralyzed to move. Anytime it managed to land a would-be OHKO on Spork, I simply healed him up so his Sturdy ability could gimme another chance.
To add fuel to the fire, I gave Spork a Dire hit so his weak little Sparks would deal just a little more damage to this poor paralyzed giant.
After awhile, Spork managed to fell this level 51 beast all on his own, harvesting tons of experience for himself and his team. The same story can be told for the rest of the opposing trainer’s probably-confused team.
