Between the military base down the road and the surrounding rural areas, I hear so frequent gunfire and house-shaking explosions that a full-scale invasion could happen and I wouldn’t know.

Somewhere across the valley is a semi-closed military base (It’s not got an active post but they still use it for training) and occasionally during Mass we can hear the gunfire from across the valley.
