How does the vixen react when she finds her mate?
Is it a dull accident or the guiding hand of fate?
How does she look upon the father of her kits?
Does she feel joy or resignation as she commits?
Is the decision instant or does it take years?
Is it even hers?
“The Fox and the Crow”
Inspired by the song “The Fox, the Crow, and the Cookie” by Mewithoutyou, which was inspired by the old folk tale.
While the tale is great, something about the imagery of the song really brought it to life to me. I tried to incorporate as much of the dessert imagery in as well as the whimsical feeling.
This was also a personal experiment. I tend to get too “character” focused in my art and not… “art” focused. Here I wanted to focus on the overall feeling of the picture, notjustthe characters. I wanted movement, a coordinated color scheme, and interesting lines.
