Character design for Disney’s Atlantis: The Lost Empire (2001), by Mike Mignola.

These are some of the drawings Mike Mignola did for us to work out Kida’s design. I remember he was apologetic about his inability to draw pretty girls. These were immensely helpful in getting the look of her costume and hair.

Celebrating Birth of 100th Great-Grandchild: “This is our response to Hitler”

Michael (92) and Marion (90) Mittwoch fled Germany as teenagers when Hitler rose to power, and were among the founders of Kibbutz Lavi.

This month they celebrated the birth of their 100th great-grandchild, Dagan Raz (in the center of the photo below, along with proud great-grandparents, father, and grandfather).

Michael Mittwoch reflected with emotion, “This is our response to Hitler, yemach shmo. He attempted to wipe us out and here we have brought our 100th great-grandchild into the covenant of Avraham Avinu!”
