Okay, I DEVOURED all the WoT books… until Knife of Dreams. I cannot for the life of me get through KoD. I’ve tried and had to start over 3 times and cannot get through it. I don’t even know why, it just seems so much slower. Waugh…

Research Help

Hi, Friends! ♥

I’m trying to write a short (2000 words) research paper on what makes a “successful” fantasy world (engaging, memorable, etc.).  Normally I could do this myself with my own analysis, but my prof wants to see between 12 and 15 articles, at least half of them being peer-reviewed, scholarly articles. 

But I’m coming up short!  I’m trying to focus on fantasy worlds I’m familiar with (Earthsea,  Middle Earth, “Randland”), but I‘ll branch out if I can get some quality analysis.

So if anyone knows anywhere to look, I’d really appreciate it!  Thanks so much!!

Just finished Path of Daggers and it’s my least favorite so far. It just couldn’t hold my attention. But it’s mostly through Elayne’s POV and she’s the most annoying character imo so that’s probably why I just wasn’t into it.

Also no Mat, BOO.

In Robert Jordan’s defense, calf muscles are unexpectedly attractive on men (more so than abs imo), but every time “well-turned calves” comes up I just snort and laugh.

• Reader: Is he sexy?
• WoT Book: "He has well-turned calves."
• Reader: He iiiiiiissssss.

Okay “A Crown of Swords” talk

Yo okay wtf Robert Jordan. Queen Tylin raping Mat was uncalled for and not okay. He’s my baby. You can’t do that to my baby. None of the babies. I’m gonna lie down for a while, very upset. I want to nurse this fictional baby and take care of him and I can’t and this is unreasonably upsetting.

Oh my gosh this is so frustrating. Now all the movie reboots make sense.
I don’t know if the WoT would make a good movie series though, maybe TV, but the characters do a lot of sniffing and braid tugging and not wanting to do anything, hahaha.
